South

with midwinter in June and July. Temperatures during
the winter months rang from 0 – 15C, 32 – 59F. Midsummer falls

The
national currency in South Africa is the Rand. 1 GBP = 12.1034 ZAR. Most
banks change travellers cheques in major currencies, usually charging
commission of 1%. South Africa has recently introduced new coins and notes,
but old coins are still in circulation so beware that the R200 note looks
a lot like the R20 note, so take care. Click

With
every shop imaginable from exquisite boutiques to chic jewellery stores
Sun City is a paradise for shoppers and offers something for even the
most expensive tastes! The curio and gift shops are the perfect place
to pick up some presents, as are the general stores that sell a full range
of confectionery. Generally the shops are open from 10.00 am - 6.00 pm,
however some opening times may vary. |

The
flying time from London to Johannesburg is only about 10 and half-hours
and to fly to Cape Town the flying time is around 11 hours. Travellers
are permitted to bring back 400 cigarettes, 250 grams of tobacco, 50 cigars,
one litre of spirit, two litres of wine, 50ml of perfume and 250ml of
